Five communities in Canada and a total of 24 people completed the Healthy Together Train-the-Trainer to be a Facilitator or Evaluator. Our 2.5 day event began with a Welcome and orientation and ended with a wonderful dinner of Greek food with our new found friends. What a great introduction to all the faces behind our trainers and Coordinators. We spent many months with names and it was wonderful to match faces to all the phone calls and emails.
Day two started out with Monique Grey-Smith as she led us through a moving and informative presentation on Cultural Resiliency. Based on feedback you would have liked to spend more time with Monique as she shared her wisdom with such passion.
The diversity of experience and culture in our room was remarkable. This will make for a very rich facilitation and evaluation experience. We look forward to learning from each and every one of you.
After learning about Healthy Together here is what you told us:
You liked…”the positive messages about health but also the overall connections in families.”
You learned…”If I don’t know just ask J and Don’t forget to breathe.”
At The Bridge we liked…the amazing contribution you all made to the success of this training event with your enthusiasm and willingness to learn with us.
We learned…that it is important to be flexible and adaptable to meet everyone’s needs and that great food makes a lot of people happy!
A special thank-you to Helen for her endless attention to detail as she managed to bring everyone together from across Canada.
Have a wonderful day and we look forward to hearing from you as you implement at your program sites!
